Joshua: Encouraged by What's Ahead

The Promise Ahead

November 17, 2025 · Joshua 1:10–18

"The Lord your God is giving you rest and has granted you this land."

— Joshua 1:13 (NIV)

Summary

The book of Joshua opens with a promise: God is giving His people the land He swore to their ancestors. This isn't just about real estate—it's about fulfillment.

For 400 years in Egypt and 40 years in the wilderness, Israel waited. Now the wait is over. The promise is about to become reality.

But notice: the promise requires action. The people must rise, cross the Jordan, and take possession of what God is giving. Grace and responsibility work together.

What promises are you waiting on? How is God calling you to act in faith while you wait?
